Grow a Garden 2 Crates

TL;DR

There are 16 prop crates in Grow a Garden 2, all bought with Sheckles from the Props Shop run by Charlotte. Most are pure decoration, but four are defensive and matter for the stealing meta: Bear Trap > Fence > Owner Door > Wood Wall. If thieves keep raiding your plot, grab a Bear Trap Crate first.

Crates are a Grow a Garden 2 original system. Each one is a sealed box you buy from the Props Shop (the prop vendor Charlotte, found in the central marketplace), and opening it grants one prop from its loot pool. Cost climbs with rarity, from the Ladder Crate at 30,000 Sheckles up to the Owner Door Crate at 1,500,000. Several launch crates still have prices marked TBA.

Best defensive crates for the stealing meta

In GAG2, props are not just cosmetics — you can use them to defend your garden against players trying to steal your crops. Four crates carry defensive props worth prioritizing:

The play is to wall off your garden with a fence and owner doors, then lay bear traps at the gaps. See the full Stealing & defense guide.

FAQ

What crates are best for defense?

Bear Trap, then Fence, then Owner Door — with the Wood Wall Crate as a fourth option once its details are confirmed. Bear Trap is the top pick because it actively stops thieves rather than just slowing them down.

Where is the Props Shop?

The Props Shop is run by Charlotte in the central marketplace. All 16 crates are bought there with Sheckles.

Are crate props purely cosmetic?

Most are. Decorative crates (ladders, benches, signs, arches, bridges) only change how your garden looks. But defensive crates (Bear Trap, Fence, Owner Door, Wood Wall) and some interactive crates (springs, conveyors, teleport pads, seesaws) have real in-game function.
